IS EVERYONE ELIGIBLE FOR MEDICARE?
Medicare is a national health insurance program provided by the federal government. Most people qualify for Original Medicare (Parts A and B) when they turn 65. It’s available to United States citizens and legal residents and provides coverage for:
- People 65 or older
- People younger than 65 who have certain disabilities,
- People of any age who have permanent kidney failure
NOW THAT I QUALIFY, WHEN CAN I ENROLL?
Around your 65th birthday, you’ll have a 7-month window of time when you can sign up for Medicare. Missing important enrollment dates can result in gaps in coverage and financial penalties, so it’s important to plan ahead. Learn more about your Initial Enrollment Period.
